Wizard Resumes ATS Scanner — Chrome Extension
This section applies specifically to the Wizard Resumes ATS Scanner browser extension for Google Chrome.
Data the Extension Collects
When you use the extension, the following data is collected and processed:
- Resume Text: When you upload a resume (PDF or DOCX), the text content is extracted entirely within your browser. The original file is discarded after parsing — only the extracted text is stored.
- Job Posting Data: When you visit a supported job board (SEEK, Indeed, LinkedIn, or Jora), the extension reads the job title, company name, location, and description from the page to score it against your resume.
- Scoring Results: Match scores and category breakdowns generated by the extension are cached locally for up to 24 hours.
How Data Is Stored
All data is stored locally on your device using Chrome's built-in extension storage (chrome.storage.local). Your resume and scores are never stored on our servers. Cached scores are automatically removed after 24 hours, and a maximum of 50 scores are retained at any time.
Deep Scan — Data Sent to Our Server
The standard resume scoring runs entirely on your device with no data leaving your browser. However, if you choose to use the Deep Scan feature, the following data is sent to our server over an encrypted HTTPS connection for AI-powered analysis:
- Your extracted resume text
- The job title, company name, location, and full description of the job posting
- The URL of the job posting
This data is processed in real time to generate your Deep Scan results and is not stored on our servers after the response is returned.
Extension Permissions
The extension requests only the permissions necessary for it to function:
- Storage: To save your resume text and cached scores locally on your device
- Active Tab & Tabs: To detect when you are viewing a job posting on a supported job board
- Scripting: To read job posting details from supported job board pages
- Host Access (SEEK, Indeed, LinkedIn, Jora): To operate on these specific job board websites only
The extension does not access your browsing history, bookmarks, clipboard, camera, microphone, or location.
No Tracking or Analytics
The extension does not include any analytics, telemetry, or tracking software. It does not use cookies, collect your identity, or require you to create an account.
Deleting Your Data
You can delete all extension data at any time by clicking the "Clear Resume" button in the extension popup. This immediately removes your stored resume text and all cached scores from your device. Uninstalling the extension also removes all stored data.

We use cookies and similar technologies to enhance your experience on our website. You can control cookies through your browser settings, but disabling cookies may affect some functionality.
